Getting Started

Switchday is a co-parenting platform designed to help separated or divorced parents coordinate custody schedules, communicate, track expenses, and store important documents — all in one place. Every message and record is timestamped, hashed, and tamper-evident, so your history can stand up in court.
After you sign up, you invite your co-parent by email. They create their own account (or accept the invite into an existing one) and you're connected. Both parents see shared calendar events, expenses, and messages. Each parent's account is independent — you each log in separately with your own credentials.
Yes. Switchday is available on iOS, Android, and the web. Download the app from the App Store or Google Play, or use the full web app at switchday.app on any device — phone, tablet, or desktop.
Yes. Switchday generates a private iCal feed URL that you can subscribe to directly in the Skylight app — go to Settings → Subscribed Calendars and paste your Switchday feed URL. Your custody schedule and shared events update automatically. The iCal feed is available on all plans, including free. You'll find your feed URL in the calendar setup step during onboarding, or later in Settings → Calendar Feed.

Free vs. Pro Plan

The Free plan includes: messaging with your co-parent (30-day history), the custody calendar, children's profiles, schedule import from OFW or TalkingParents, and the iCal calendar feed (works with Skylight Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, and more). No credit card required. The free plan has no time limit — it stays free as long as you use it.
Family Pro is $19.99/month for the family unit — one charge covers both co-parents. It includes: full unlimited message history, expense tracking and splitting, court-format PDF export, Google Calendar sync, SMS relay, attorney/mediator portal access, the document vault, personal journal, and AI tone coach.
No. Family Pro is billed per family unit. When one parent subscribes, both parents in the connection get Pro features. Your co-parent does not need their own subscription.

Tamper-Proof Records

Yes. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Messages and records are access-controlled at the database level — only you and your co-parent can read them. Unlike most co-parenting apps, Switchday maintains a tamper-evident audit log of every record change. No Switchday employee can alter or delete a record without the change being detectable.
Every message, calendar event, and expense on Switchday is written to the database with a cryptographic fingerprint (SHA-256 hash) at the moment it's created. Records cannot be edited or deleted after they're created — not by you, not by your co-parent. If a record were altered, the hash would no longer match, making tampering immediately detectable.
SHA-256 is a cryptographic hash function used by financial institutions, governments, and courts worldwide. It takes any piece of data and produces a unique 64-character fingerprint. Even a single character change produces a completely different fingerprint. This means any attempt to alter a record — changing a word in a message, adjusting an expense amount — is immediately detectable by comparing the stored hash against the record's current contents. Courts and attorneys recognize SHA-256 as a standard for proving data integrity.
Yes. The /verify page is a free public tool — no account required. Attorneys, courts, and guardians ad litem can upload a PDF export or document and verify its SHA-256 hash against the original on record. There is no charge for verification.

Court-Admissible Records

Switchday is designed to produce records that meet the standard legal requirements for electronic evidence: each record has a precise UTC timestamp, a cryptographic hash proving it hasn't been altered, and an audit trail of every action. Whether a specific record is admissible depends on the judge, jurisdiction, and how it is presented. We recommend working with your attorney, who can use the attorney portal to review your records directly.
Family Pro subscribers can generate a time-limited read-only access link for their attorney, mediator, or guardian ad litem from Settings → Professional Access. The link expires automatically (no account needed for your attorney), and you can revoke it at any time. Your attorney sees the same tamper-evident record view you do, including all hashes and timestamps.
Family Pro subscribers can export a formatted PDF of their message history, expense records, custody calendar, and document vault manifest — with SHA-256 hashes printed for every record. The PDF is designed to be attached to court filings or shared with counsel. Each page is watermarked with the export timestamp and your account ID.

Privacy & Security

Only you and your co-parent can read messages sent on Switchday. If you grant attorney portal access, that person can also read your message history for the duration of their access window — which you control.
Switchday staff have access to the underlying database for operational and legal compliance purposes. We do not routinely review message content. We may access records if required by a valid court order or subpoena. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
You can close your account from Settings → Account → Close Account. Closing your account removes your active access immediately. Underlying records are retained for a period consistent with legal obligations — typically 7 years — to preserve tamper-evident audit trails, since co-parenting records may be referenced in ongoing or future legal proceedings. For a data export before closing, email support@switchday.app.

Domestic Violence Waiver

Survivors of domestic violence or intimate partner abuse can receive Family Pro at no cost. We believe cost should never be a barrier to safety and documentation for survivors navigating the legal system.
The waiver is available to survivors who can provide verification through court records — for example, a protective order, restraining order, or documentation from legal proceedings establishing domestic violence or abuse.
  1. Contact us at support@switchday.app with subject line “DV Waiver Request.”
  2. Verification— we work with your attorney or legal advocate to verify eligibility using court records. Your attorney's access to your Switchday records enables them to complete the approval process.
  3. Promo code — once approved, you receive a promo code that applies 100% off Family Pro at checkout. Your co-parent does not receive notice of the waiver application.
