Effective date: June 3, 2026
Switchday ("Service," "we," "us," or "our") is a co-parenting platform operated by Jeffrey A Ver, a sole proprietor based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina ("Operator"). Switchday is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
By using Switchday, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash via Supabase Auth).
Profile information. You may provide additional information such as your display name, initials, phone number, timezone, and co-parent connection details.
Content you create. Messages, expense records, custody schedule entries, child profiles, and any documents or files you upload are stored to provide the Service.
Children's information. You may enter basic information about your children (names, birth dates, photos) solely for the purpose of co-parenting coordination.
Payment information. Subscription billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number. We receive a Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
Usage data. We may collect non-personal usage data such as page views, feature usage, and error logs to improve the Service.
Device and log data. Standard server logs may include IP addresses, browser type, and request timestamps.
We use your information to:
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.
We share data only as follows:
Service providers. We use Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (billing), Resend (email delivery), Twilio (SMS), and Vercel (hosting). These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.
Third-party processors. When you use Switchday Coach (communication coaching), the text of your composed message is transmitted to OpenAI for tone analysis. This transmission occurs before you send the message. We do not transmit your name, identity, or account information alongside message content. OpenAI processes this data subject to their privacy policy and API data usage policies. We have configured our OpenAI integration to opt out of data use for model training where that option is available.
Co-parent. When you connect with a co-parent on Switchday, certain shared data (messages, calendar events, expenses you share) is visible to that co-parent by design.
Observers. If you grant Observer access, that person can view your custody calendar (read-only). You control who has observer access and can revoke it at any time.
Professionals. Family Pro subscribers may grant time-limited read-only access to attorneys, mediators, or guardians ad litem. Access is controlled by you and expires automatically.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, subpoena, or to protect our legal rights or the safety of others.
Your data is retained as long as your account exists. Closing your account flags it as closed and removes active access, but underlying data is retained in our systems for a period consistent with legal obligations (typically 7 years for financial records). We do not permanently delete records to preserve the integrity of tamper-evident audit trails.
You may request a copy of your data at any time by emailing support@switchday.app.
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest via Supabase, cryptographic hashing of message records, and access controls enforced by Row Level Security policies. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Switchday is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Profile information about your children that you enter is treated with the same protections as all other personal data and is never used for advertising or shared with unauthorized parties.
Family Pro subscribers may enable SMS relay, which routes messages through a shared Switchday phone number (via Twilio) to document co-parent communications. By enabling this feature, you consent to the logging of SMS messages sent and received through the relay for record-keeping purposes. You are responsible for obtaining any legally required consent from the other party before enabling SMS relay.
Message types. When you enable SMS relay, you may receive the following message types from Switchday: co-parent message relay, one-time verification codes, and custody switch reminders. Message frequency varies based on your co-parenting activity and settings.
Mobile number privacy. Your mobile phone number is collected solely to provide the SMS relay feature. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Rates and opt-out. Message and data rates may apply. To opt out of SMS messages at any time, reply STOP to any message from Switchday, or disable SMS relay in your account settings. After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation message and no further messages will be sent. For help, reply HELP or contact support@switchday.app.
Carrier liability. Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages.
Switchday Coach analyzes the tone of messages you compose before you choose to send them. This analysis is performed server-side by transmitting your draft message text to OpenAI's API. The following applies:
If you do not wish to use Switchday Coach, you may send messages without interacting with its suggestions.
